Who we are
Hey, I'm Rui Amaral
I've spent over a decade designing and building things across multiple industries. Drafting, engineering, fabrication, prototyping, manufacturing. Along the way I kept running into the same problem: companies play it safe. They won't touch the project that doesn't fit neatly into their workflow, and they'll burn your timeline figuring that out.
I started Obleek Builds so the answer could be "yes, we'll figure it out" instead of "that's not something we do."
What Sets Us Apart
Most shops execute what you hand them. We catch what's wrong with it first.
One client came to us with a product design that looked great on screen but would've failed the first time someone tried to assemble it. We redesigned the internals, sourced a manufacturer, and had working prototypes in their hands, all before their original vendor had even returned a quote.
That's what years of hands-on engineering and fabrication actually buys you: the instinct for where things break, where time gets wasted, and where money disappears.
Who We Work With
Startups bringing a physical product to market for the first time. Small businesses that need custom fabrication without the overhead of a general contractor. Companies with a concept that "can't be built" until someone actually tries. Individuals with a vision and a budget to make it real.
If you've got something that needs to go from idea to real, you're in the right place.
Why "Obleek"?
The name comes from "oblique," any angle that isn't 90°. Standard thinking keeps you boxed in. We built this shop to work outside of it.
No committees. No layers of project managers. You talk directly to the person building your thing, and you get it faster because of it.
